September 25, 2021 10am to noon at Delki Dozzi edible forest garden
Join expert gardener Ron Lewis and the Sudbury Shared Harvest team for a hands-on workshop on dividing and propagating edible forest garden plants!
We'll be moving strawberry, raspberry, rhubarb, daylilies, hostas, oregano and creeping thyme to other parts of the garden and potting some up for some of our other garden projects. There will be extras for you to take home if you like.
The one-hour workshop is free, but you must register in advance by emailing info (at) sudburysharedharvest.ca In exchange for the free workshop, we ask that you stay afterwards to help us spread woodchips to help control weeds.
September 22 and 27th at Place Hurtubise (times TBD but will be during the day)
We're involved in establishing a small edible forest garden and pollinator garden as part of a project coordinated by our friends at Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury. The planting takes place on September 27th. On September 22nd, they'll also be planting "regular" trees as part of the project. Sign up here to volunteer (and to receive more information).
Sat. October 16th, Alban Community Centre Park, 11am to 3pm
(About 45 minutes from central Sudbury). Join us to plant an edible forest garden in collaboration with Centre de santé Univi Health Centre at the "splash pad" park in Alban. You'll learn a bit about edible forest gardening and help us establish fruit trees and other edible plants, plus a pollinator garden. We'll be providing lunch for all volunteers, so please be sure to let us know you're coming by sending an email to info (at) sudburysharedharvest.ca
